As you may have seen, from one of our recent video’s on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/earlandpelham/). Our Pelham House commercial conversion has begun! The main contractors, J Tomlinson, have been on site for 2 weeks now, which means only 20 weeks left for the build!
The strip out has begun, which includes making new access through some walls, allowing the building to be reconfigured for the apartments. The original Victorian main staircase for the building is being retained, so has been completely covered up for protection.
As is with all older buildings, what you see is not always what you get! For example, one of the WC’s in the building, which was accessed from the half landing on the stairs, has been found to have a huge void it, that we didn’t know was there! We and our architect are now working on incorporating it in to one of the top floor apartments!
Please let me: Matt Watts (firstname.lastname@example.org) know if there is anything you would like to know more about and I will do my best to answer it in the next blog.
The two Pictures below are of Pelham House in its current condition. The first is of the protected stair case, and the second is the large void above the WC.
